Through their participation in Eurovision 2021, Blåsemafian founded the Let Loose Movement. Based on the experiences from their own childhood playing in marching bands, the core values of this movement have always been to inspire and motivate young musicians from a variety of musical backgrounds. Unity, fellowship, and a sense of accomplishment are all values central to the movement, of which all members of Blåsemafian are proud ambassadors.
Today, the Movement consists of thousands of members from all across the country. Representing a large variety of music communities such as marching bands, orchestras, big bands, choirs, and rock bands, the members come from all age groups. To provide a new, modern and inspiring repertoire for all these communities is one of the movement's sub-goals, and most of the arrangements are available through www.notebutikken.no.
During the covid-19 lockdown, Blåsemafian arranged digital meetings and rehearsals, gathering marching band musicians from all across the nation to play and enjoy music. They also physically visited about 50 bands during their tour across Norway in the summer/fall of 2021, proving that the unity of the community stands firm regardless of the society lockdowns.
One of the long-term goals of the Let Loose Movement is to contribute to the recruitment and modernization of the marching band community, as well as the other musical societies. We will continue to arrange all our songs for these different groups, as the ambition is that this will benefit young musicians in the time to come. This work remains Blåsemafian's greatest pleasure.
